Transfer-In Process
Application and Acceptance
1. Initial calls/emails by interested transfer students should be directed to Ms. Maricela Grillo at 773-423-5003 or at mgrillo@gordontech.org.
2. Ms. Grillo will then mail or email the application package to the interested family. The family can also pick the package up from the main office.
3. Once the forms are returned, the main office will create a folder for the prospective transfer student and ensure that all paperwork and forms are complete. All paperwork must be completed one week before Christmas break in order for a student to transfer in to Gordon Tech for the second term. Also, a student must be able to start the second term no later than the end of the second full week of the term in order to be accepted.
4. After the folder is completed, a date and time will be set up for you to meet with the Principal regarding acceptance.
5. Once the student is accepted, Ms. Grillo will contact you to finalize paperwork for Registration.
Registration Meeting (Guidance Counselor)
1. Family will meet with guidance to discuss student’s academic and health history and select courses
2. Courses will be inputted into the system.
3. Student will:
a. Receive Schedule
b. Be assigned a locker
c. Receive a lock ($12 will be charge towards tuition for this)
d. Be given information to order books and uniform
e. Receive handbook
f. Receive school calendar
g. Receive a log-in and directives for Ed-line
h. Be given a tour
i. Receive a start day for school
4. Family will meet with the Tuition Manager and pay first installment of Tuition and fees. A receipt will be issued. Tuition associate will walk them through the monthly billing cycle.
5 The Principal will send an email to all faculty and staff welcoming the new student.
6. The folder will be sent to the records office after all important info is updated.
