Giving Opportunities:
GT relies heavily on the support of its alumni and friends to make a Gordon Tech education possible for many of our deserving students. The Richard Quanstrum Scholarship

In September 1978, Gordon Tech became Richard Quanstrum’s
teaching home. He loved GT and loved being a Ram. Coach “Q”
was a long time track and field coach who had the reputation of
getting his athletes “peeked” before major events. He believed
that his calling was to be a teacher at Gordon Tech to influence
young men and women in and out of the classroom. He counseled
students on life skills, ways to enter college as well as
career choices. Coach “Q” believed in the best of everyone. His
philosophy was that the right way to live is to FINISH STRONG!
He lives on through this scholarship.
The Finish Strong Award is presented on an annual basis to incoming
and hard working GT students who demonstrate financial need and are
in good academic standing. The student must represent the best of GT’s
core values – Leadership, Faith, Respect, Discipline and Excellence.
To remain eligible for this award, a 2.75 GPA must be maintained. The
student and the parent or guardian must help with at least six GT events
per academic school year.
