Who is eligible for Financial Aid?

For incoming 9th grade students, the process begins with being successfully admitted to GTHS and then completing the Financial Aid application. For returning students, Tuition must be current to be eligible for assistance. DOWNLOAD APPLICATION HERE
Financial aid applications will be made available at the Entrance Exam on Saturday, January 14, 2012. Students who take the Entrance Exam at Gordon Tech will be given first consideration for financial aid awards.
How does the school determine a family’s eligibility for Tuition assistance?
All financial aid granted is based on financial need. This is determined from a combination of the Financial Aid Application and requested W2 and tax return forms submitted to Gordon Tech. There is no maximum or minimum family income limits that affect eligibility. We look at family income as well as other factors affecting a family’s ability to pay.
Who determines the amount of assistance each family receives?
The GT Financial Aid Committee reviews all applications and determines the amount of assistance to be provided to each family based on the amount of money available, the number of families who apply and each family’s financial need.
Does GT give out scholarships based on academic merit?
Several academic awards are available to our top scorers on our Entrance Exam, as well as top scorers from our feeder grammar schools.
Tuition & Fees Breakdown:

Tuition- Providing the best possible education requires highly qualified teachers, diverse academic and co-curricular programs, state of the art technology and a well maintained building. Gordon Tech is working hard to limit its costs but still provide a first-rate academic and co-curricular program for your daughter or son. As a reminder, the real cost to educate each student is $11,200.
Registration Fee- This non-refundable fee is required to reserve a space for the upcoming school year and to begin the scheduling process. Due: March 31, 2010.
Activity Fee- This fee allows GT to provide robust co-curricular activities including Ethnic Clubs, Drama Club, Student Government and Young Women’s Leadership Academy to name a few.
Tech Fee- This fee helps to defray the costs of technology within all areas of the school.
Fundraising Fee- This is a way for each family to ask the community to support Gordon Tech students as a whole. The Annual Fall Raffle is the major and required activity to accomplish this. There is also a voluntary fundraiser in the spring. If your student participates in athletics or clubs, he or she may be involved in smaller fundraisers throughout the year as decided upon by the students.

Additional fees not listed but that are a part of a Catholic education: The cost of books and uniform.

Yes. Each family must apply every year in order to receive financial aid. Returning families who have significantly different economic circumstances this year may receive more or less assistance than they received last year.
What if my taxes are not completed by the application deadline?
In order to facilitate the application process, we encourage you to get your taxes done early to meet the deadlines. However, the school will accept the Federal Income Tax return(s) from the previous year if they are accompanied by W-2 forms from the most recent year.
