For some, it's an outstanding college prep school; for others, it's a leader in technology; still for others, it's a caring, nurturing and safe environment for students to learn and grow. During the course of 60 years, Gordon Tech has addressed the needs of young people preparing for higher education and a career of their choice. At the same time, Gordon Tech has consistently maintained its Catholic identity. Our Catholic heritage is at the very heart of our mission and vision to share the Gospel values of our Risen Lord, Jesus Christ.
Catholic is who we are, and at GT that is more than just religion classes. We actively express our faith by participating in class Masses, at annual retreats, and through service programs that all Gordon Tech students participate in for the benefit of the greater Chicagoland community.
Each student is important at Gordon Tech. The emphasis is to help each student develop aspects of his or her educational experience, whether academic, physical, social or religious.

The History of Gordon Tech High School
Samuel Cardinal Stritch asked the Resurrectionists to open a boy’s school that would combine preparation for college with skills that would help these young men succeed in the workplace. In September 1952, the Resurrection Fathers and Brothers opened Gordon Tech as the first college preparatory/technical high school in the Archdiocese of Chicago. The school started in the old Weber High School building located at Division and Haddow. In 1961, the school moved to its present location at California and Addison. In August of 2002, the school accepted girls as part of the freshmen class.
Today, Gordon Tech High School continues to provide a first-rate college preparatory program to over 500 young women and men.
The History of the Congregation of the Resurrection
The Congregation of the Resurrection began in France on Ash Wednesday of 1836. Bogdan Janski, Peter Semenenko, and Jerome Kajsiewicz, are regarded as founders of the Congregation. The members of the Congregation believe that God calls them to work together for the resurrection of society, bringing his live and love to all: through their personal witness, through the witness of their life in community, and through their community apostolats, primarily through parish work and teaching. This also requires that they build, and teach others to build, a Christian community in which all can experience the hope, joy, and peace of Christ's Resurrection. The Congregation has developed into an international Community, serving the Church in Italy, Poland, Bulgaria, Austria, Germany, Canada, the United States, Brazil, Bolivia, Australia, Bermuda, Mexico, Ukraine, White Russia, Slovakia, and Israel.
